Slam Dunk arrived and certainly left its mark. The Midlands leg of this festival found itself a new home at the NEC complex, thanks to a refurb at its regular Wolves home. There was a vastness that felt sterile and dispersed the usual pent up energy, sweat and hormones synonymous with Slam Dunk. However, it didn't take long for the crowd to make it their own, sit wherever they could find space and bring a festival scuzz to the shiny Genting arena. |

Despite another tour on the cards this will be last Moose Blood show of the year and it feels right for it to be at the Kasbah as the first time I reviewed them was supporting Mallory Knox here at the end of last year. These boys have certainly worked their arses off after going from support slots to a few headline tours and a slot at Warped Tour. |

Us lucky Gig Junkies got to go along to this year's Slamdunk Festival 2015 at Wolves Civic. Every year the question of stage location raises it's head. This year they realised a riser under the marquee wasn't gonna cut it when it became the Impericon Stage of Hardcore. And so a new outdoor stage was birthed outside the Wulfrun and thus the joy of crowded corridors within the Civic was born for the crowds. |

It was a sad day for Fightstar fans back in 2010 when announcing their hiatus however after four years absent, they ended their hiatus and announced a small run of UK shows for early 2015 which we were lucky enough to attend. Fightstar's main support for these handful of shows were the young and fresh Moose Blood who released their debut album late 2014, who look to have a very bright future. So with four years absence from live shows do Fightstar still have what it takes to put on a tremendous show? Or will the stage rust take longer than anticipated to shake off? |

Opening with ‘Pups’, Moose Blood are greeted with a crowd that start bouncing instantly as singer Eddie asks for us all to “have some fun” in that super polite way of his. Eddie’s vocals sound ballsier tonight. I am unable to decide whether that is a reflection upon being the headline band and the type of crowd on this tour, or just a sign of a voice that’s fucked from all the touring. |

Moose Blood are a band to watch for 2015 and this is why we are back to see them at the Institute on their support stint for Mallory Knox. |

As soon as we knew Avalanche was doing a decent UK tour the only question was "which one are we going to?" The “we” being the photographer of tonight Lee Allen, me and my boyfriend. |
