It’s been a phenomenal year for New Power Generation, a stateside tour which kicked off in New York, playing for Bernie Sanders and MacKenzie’s out of this world run on America’s Got Talent, shooting him into the hearts of the nation and showcasing that amazing voice and vocal range earning him a place in the Quarter finals.

As the year comes to a close it’s time to carry on and end on a high with Prince’s legendary band finishing off the year in Europe including four dates on the UK shores, London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow bringing the funk and turning up the heat in the cold December months.

Led by long running NPG member and musical director Morris Hayes fans are in for a treat as these iconic shows take you through an extravaganza of hits a la ‘Cream’, ‘Purple Rain’ and ‘Sign o’ the Times’ and also throws in those hidden gems you don’t hear as often ‘Jughead’, ‘The Good Life’ and ‘Call The Law’ rocking the venues on prior gigs.

If you haven’t been before the ‘Celebrate Prince’ tour lives up to it’s name a fast pace celebration oozing epic music and honouring one of the greatest, if not the greatest musician of our time. It’s a must see for both new and old music lovers as you are taken on a magnificent journey with some of the crème de la crème of the Paisley Park alumni, Sonny Thompson’s impressive bass beats and guitarist and rapper Tony M add extra substance to the show alongside Mint Condition’s Homer O’Dell and the late John Blackwell protege Les Cleveland on drums.

Percussionist and dancer Damon D’s smile is infectious on the stage mirroring the passion and love filling the audience and lead singer MacKenzie is something else. The great thing about the singer who hails originally from Virginia is he is his own person on stage, he doesn’t try to be a tribute act he takes the music and brings it as his own, his impressive vocal range and melodic sounds wow the audience as he gives each performance like his last leaving them in awe with emotional jaw dropping performances of ‘The Cross’ and ‘Call My Name’ amongst many other electrifying performances since debuting mid 2018 with the band.

Joining the band on the UK dates are female soul sensation Mica Paris and Color Me Badd’s Martin Kember, it’s time to go crazy and party like it’s 1999, these shows are not to be missed.
