Papa Roach It’s sometimes hard to believe how long Papa Roach have been together. Tori Amos I know commitment. I know love, and dedication, and perseverance… as evidenced in my long time love affair with Tori Amos. Through her dabbling with electro (not keen, but I love her nonetheless), creating a beautiful musical theatre piece (vastly underrated), jetsetting to international gigs (staying in strangers houses all over the place), nurturing friendships with other similarly obsessed fans (she inspires obsession and camaraderie more than any other musician I know), and seeing her more than 25 times in my 20+ year love (and counting).

DJ Shadow It is hard to believe that it has been 21 years since the release of DJ Shadow’s ground-breaking and highly influential experimental hip-hop album Endtroducing. Pale Honey With a solid debut album under Pale Honey’s belt, one thing is clear about follow-up ‘Devotion’ from the offset: the two-piece have found their feet. Sparse indie rock is the mainstay across the record, from understated opener ‘Replace Me’ to ‘Golden’, in which their brand of agitated rock shines.

Slaughter Beach, Dog With some musicians, the phrase ‘side project’ would strike fear into even their most ardent fans. The general consensus being that to step away from their main band is to indulge their most eye rollingly, pretentious whims. Occasionally though, a side project comes along that may just be a match for the band that spawned them. Slaughter Beach, Dog are the brain child of Modern Baseball’s Jake Ewald.
