Following his headline gig at last week’s iTunes Festival at London’s Roundhouse, Plan B (AKA Ben Drew) has today confirmed details of an 11-date headline UK arena tour in February. Kicking off at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena, Plan B will head to Manchester, Cardiff, Nottingham, Bournemouth, Birmingham, London’s O2 Arena (2nd time he’s played the venue), Brighton, Plymouth, Glasgow, concluding in Aberdeen. The Killers today announce their first UK tour in four years. The Las Vegas group, whose hotly-anticipated fourth studio album, Battle Born, is released on September 17th, will play shows starting in Glasgow on 26th Oct and ending with two nights at London’s 02 Arena. |

Wednesday June 27th, 2012 saw a nostalgic bustle of Birmingham’s silver-haired rock n’ rollers gathering outside what is now ‘Cash Converters’, York Road, Kings Heath. But, not so long ago it was the legendary Ritz Ballroom (later converting to The Ritz Bingo, still run by the indomitable Ma & Pa Regan) home to many a historic gig that saw iconic bands hone their early acts. The Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, Jimmy Cliff and so many others. Next door at the Hare & Hounds luminary names were to likewise to tread the boards of fame not least UB40 (at least one of whom was there this morning) and 4X Cabaret compare extraordinaire, Frank Skinner. The ‘Hare’ continues to grow from strength to strength promoting an eclectic range of contemporary music. |
