Tonight at the O2 Institute in Birmingham, the venue is hosting three separate events, so making sure you end up in the right room is essential. With six days remaining on their headline tour Brighton rockers YONAKA are set to perform to a sold out crowd here in Birmingham.

The night started in darkness before the room was illuminated by white strobe lighting backed with hints of colour, Theresa Jarvis could be seen wearing black shorts accompanied by a black bikini top marked with the letter ‘Y’. The night started with a bang with tracks ‘Punch Bag’, ‘Awake’ and ‘Lose Our Heads’ which sent the audience into a jumping frenzy.

During ‘Own Worst Enemy’ Theresa jumped down off the stage and onto the barrier to mingle with the audience, which resulted in a mini mosh pit breaking out a few rows back from where she was standing. Following this before the band played ‘Creature’, Theresa told the audience “This song is about love, not the good kind of love like the holding hands, kisses and cuddles but the ugly kind of love, that’s kept behind closed doors, the ugly shit”.

Nearing the end of the set George and Theresa performed a stripped back version of ‘Guilty’. As the intro to the song started to play Theresa said “I forgot the words ahhhhh Shit! It’s okay I remember them” before continuing with the track. Theresa also took the time to thank the audience saying “Thank you for selling out this show for us so fucking quickly, we appreciate it”.

The night was coming to a close but before they performed ‘Rockstar’ Theresa explained this song was “For the dreamers and to never stop dreaming, it keeps us all alive”. Before ending the night on a high with ‘Fired Up’ and ‘F.W.T.B’.
