The Chariot

The night begins with new outfit The Deceiver opening up the Sold Out O2 Academy Three in Birmingham, with alot of hype building about this band they kicked off the night in great fashion with their front man getting everyone moving in the crowd by shouting fast lyrics in the faces of everyone, with a mixture of acts such as The Ghost Inside/While She Sleeps and Brutality Will Prevail the band bring something a lot different to the other locals acts I have seen within Birmingham With them being it their first show I wasn’t expecting a lot but was rather impressed by the stage presence and confidence of the band with the front man Kieran ending up in the crowd moshing with the fans side to side through the room keeping the energy pumped throughout the set, for a first show they seemed to win over the sold out crowd with almost ease.

My Children My Bride The Chariot

Following that came local metal heroes Odessa after coming back from tour with Demoraliser a week earlier everyone rushed to the front to grab the microphone from front-man Richard Lardner who within seconds of the first song for the crowd moshing to their heavy melodic riffs. Featuring songs from their recent demo release the band had the crowd singing back at them throughout the set. With big things expected of them in 2011 Odessa did not disappoint! After completing their set to get an on choir they came back on with a new song set to be added to the next release coming later this year with much heavier break downs and gang chants, the room opened up with people moshing side to side. Truly a great set of lads with lots to come.

The Chariot The Chariot

After two great sets from some local talent next up we’re Mychildren Mybride, after having their previous tour cancelled the band had not been in the United Kingdom since 2008 and expectations were high and they did as expected playing songs for both records MCMB had the entire room singing back at them in this sold out show, truly amazing set playing hits such as Wings of Integrity, Headshot! And many more, bodies were flying everywhere throughout the set with people crawling over the crowd to reach front-man Matthew Hasting to grab the microphone from the excited vocalist who expressed his thanks and saying how this was by far his favourite UK show to date.

The Chariot The Chariot

Headline act The Chariot came on with a lot to do after being hard pushed by the acts beforehand and played to perfection, playing all there smash hits during the evening also expressing this being one of their best shows! Throughout the set the band were doing things of pure carnage on stage, flips, stage dives, the works, The Chariot are truely an act you must see live over CD, I myself had never seen them live until this moment and was totally blown away by the bands presence. The set ended with their drummer taking his kit apart and moving it around the play it broken down, something I had never seen done before but words could not describe how electric the room was at this moment, one amazing show.
