Fatboy Slim As the acid house smiley face carpet is laid down on the podium, you realise how much faster the changeover between DJs is compared with bands as it is only a brief period of time before the breaks legend that is Fatboy Slim takes to the stage, adorned in a Hawaiian shirt that is as colourful as his performance. Needless to say, Norman Cook is unlikely to let you down when stood behind the decks considering he has been honing his craft for the past 25 years of so yet his ability to create such an electrifying atmosphere is niche.

Good Charlotte "Who has been listening to Good Charlotte for a long ass time? We’ve grown up together haven’t we? Let’s go back…" Good Charlotte performed the final show of the European leg of the Generation Rx tour Wednesday night at the iconic Alexandra Palace. Surprisingly, it was their biggest show in the UK since the band formed in 1996. Holy Holy Ziggy Stardust is probably one of the most well-known personas of David Bowie. Famously killed off in 1973 without fellow musicians knowing must have been a big shock. But Woody Woodmansey is still a Spider from Mars and hearing him drum is like re-living 1973! (for those of you who were there). Sadly, I was too young to see Ziggy first time around, but The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust is a standout album and tonight, Holy Holy are going to play that album in full.

HRH Metal 2019 Once upon a time, there was a young writer who found herself presented with the opportunity to review a music festival. But ah! This wasn’t just any festival. This was HRH Metal 2018, and a more magical experience the writer couldn’t possibly have imagined. Sadly the spell only lasted for one weekend, and she had to leave the enchanted world before the O2 Academy turned back into a pumpkin. Or something like that. Many moons she waited for the festival to return. At last, her patience is about to be rewarded. Take her hand and walk with her into the mystical depths of the metalhead Heaven which is Hard Rock Hell. (It’s me, by the way. The writer is me. ‘Sup.)
