Theory of a Deadman Tonight playing to a sold out crowd at the Manchester Academy 2 are Canadian rockers, Theory of a Deadman. 10 years since releasing their first record and 5 albums later, its nice the see the band finally getting the recognition they deserve from UK audiences.

Pond Pond are a band who seem to live in the shadow of fellow Aussies from Perth, Tame Impala. Members of Pond have been in Tame Impala and vice versa. While Tame Impala seem to have got most of the limelight, Pond may be the hardest workers, having made six albums since 2009. And as tonight’s gig demonstrates, Pond are a red hot band, far beyond being an offshoot of Tame Impala.

Cast Does anyone else miss Britpop? As a staunch fan of the likes of Oasis, Blur, The Stone Roses, The Charlatans and countless more It's something I think about often. The wealth of songwriting talent emerging from Britain at that time, the number of working class bands inspiring a generation to dream big and strive for something better and the incredible catalogue of timeless British music it produced made it a truly golden era. The recent reunion of The Stone Roses and the constant threat of an Oasis reformation only prove there's still hunger for it and a lingering loyal fan base. It's no wonder that one of Britpop's finest, Cast, have been back on the road and playing all the old hits for ecstatic audiences.
