Slam Dunk Festival Midlands 2016 Slam Dunk arrived and certainly left its mark. The Midlands leg of this festival found itself a new home at the NEC complex, thanks to a refurb at its regular Wolves home. There was a vastness that felt sterile and dispersed the usual pent up energy, sweat and hormones synonymous with Slam Dunk. However, it didn't take long for the crowd to make it their own, sit wherever they could find space and bring a festival scuzz to the shiny Genting arena.

Moose Blood Opening with ‘Pups’, Moose Blood are greeted with a crowd that start bouncing instantly as singer Eddie asks for us all to “have some fun” in that super polite way of his. Eddie’s vocals sound ballsier tonight. I am unable to decide whether that is a reflection upon being the headline band and the type of crowd on this tour, or just a sign of a voice that’s fucked from all the touring.

Beartooth Last time that Beartooth visited Birmingham (and the first time they visited the UK) was as the opening band for Of Mice & Men, back in April. Just five months later they’re back and headlining their own show at the Birmingham Academy 3, bringing along their own support in the form of Dead Harts and Climates.
