Van Morrison What a wonderful night for a moon dance as Innervisions Festival 2019 drew to a close with the legend that is Van Morrison performing not one, but two sell out shows at Camden’s iconic Roundhouse venue. The Northern Irish crooner wowed the crowd as he performed with a full band and boy was he on rare form, treating the crowd to an hour and half stellar performance and I'm sure there was even a rare smile thrown in now and again from this megastar.

Maceo Parker Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Ani DiFranco and Parliament are just some of the acts the incredible American saxophonist Maceo Parker has performed with. Having started his career with the Godfather of soul himself James Brown, Maceo's talent shone through leading the North Carolinian native to be hot property in the jazz industry. In the early millennium Maceo was one of the first wave of Prince's New Power Generation horn section having contributed to eight albums and performing in sell out shows such as the legendary 21 nights at London’s O2, so to see him return to the capital is a huge treat for this flexible musician.

Mavis Staples Not many 79 year olds can get up on stage at Glastonbury and blow the crowd away as much as the younger artists, but after all there is definitely something special about Mavis Staples. Six days away from her eightieth birthday, Chicago born Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and American gospel singer, Mavis Staples returned for the second year of Innervisions Festival at Camden’s Roundhouse after the success of her first year at Union Chapel.

Rodrigo y Gabriela It’s an experience like no other as a wave of Mexican classical guitar fills the room to create a mass cheer from a pretty much sold out Roundhouse. The grooves coming from the immensely talented Rodrigo y Gabriela fill everyone with joy as every eye is fixed on them.

The Vaccines The Vaccines kick off with Your Love is My New Favourite Band and the crowd goes berserk, beers, shirts and even the odd shoe go flying through the air and the party is well underway. Teenage Icon, a catchy single from their sophomore effort Come Of Age follows and I can’t help but have my attention diverted from the band to the audience itself.

Innervisions Festival: George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic London has been treated to an array of talented and legendary musicians over the past week of Innervisions Festival and tonight at Camden's iconic Roundhouse venue was no different. As icons go, this show was heavyweight, to add to the fact it was sadly announced the 76 year old Godfather of Funk would be retiring in 2019, this made the show even more special considering it had a good chance of being his last in the UK, taking into consideration all that, London was in for a treat as George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic came into town.

James Bay As one of my favourite solo artists and a big fan his debut album, ‘Chaos & the Calm’ PLUS having waited over three years for a new release and a tour, I was elated (and apprehensive) about covering the James Bay Roundhouse gig on Tuesday. Frank Turner In a packed out Camden Roundhouse, just under 2,000 fans eagerly anticipated the grand entry of the greatest showman that is Frank Turner. And his entry is certainly epic as his band mate trips him over whilst running onto the stage, falling flat on his face. An extremely embarrassed Frank Turner curses and laughs at guitarist Ben Lloyd as he continues to start the show with the energetic and upbeat ‘1933’.

Imagine Dragons In anticipation of the upcoming third studio album Evolve (ƎVOLVE), scheduled for release later this month, American alt-rock band Imagine Dragons played a very special show at Roundhouse last night and Adila and I were fortunate enough to attend it. Having two of the top ten most downloaded songs in rock history, 'Radioactive' and 'Demons', the band has had a meteoric rise to fame from playing small venues in front of 100 to some of the biggest music festivals in the world and being able to draw a crowd of early-twenty-somethings that literally went around the block when I arrived at the venue.
