Frank Turner In a packed out Camden Roundhouse, just under 2,000 fans eagerly anticipated the grand entry of the greatest showman that is Frank Turner. And his entry is certainly epic as his band mate trips him over whilst running onto the stage, falling flat on his face. An extremely embarrassed Frank Turner curses and laughs at guitarist Ben Lloyd as he continues to start the show with the energetic and upbeat ‘1933’.

Joe Satriani Joe Satriani brings his guitar buddies for another overdose of steller G3 solos at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Joe Satriani loves playing Hammersmith, it’s clear for all to see and he reminds us of that fact several times during the show as this isn’t the first time he has brought 2 great guitarists out to play in London on his G3 road trips.

Brian Fallon & The Howling Weather Brian Fallon walks on stage full of smiles with his band The Howling Weather, which features the familiar face of Ian Perkins, and they quickly burst into ‘A Wonderful Life’. After the song someone within the crowd responds by shouting “where is the checked shirt Brian” to which he responds with how he brought the polka dot shirt out especially for Manchester, one of the many exclusive treats he has up his sleeve for us. Next up on the setlist is the catchy ‘Rosemary’ and one of the brand new songs ‘Forget Me Not’ which goes down a treat.

Roy Wood It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas - as they say. Well there is no better way to spend it than with a local legend who’s given us one of those true Christmas songs we’ve sung along to for all these years. In the Symphony Hall, Birmingham, with a plethora of special guests, and a pretty much sold out crowd in full Christmas spirit akin in Santa hats and festive garb – let us welcome the Roy Wood Rock & Roll Band.

Bad Touch It’s almost panto season and tonight we have ‘Beauty & The Beast’ in the shape of Mollie Marriott and Bad Touch, live at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds. Classic Rock n’ Roll tales as old as time. I’m back at my favourite independent music venue in the North – Leeds Brudenell Social Club for a night of Classic Rock that could have been made in the 70’s. We have the long hair, flares, boots, beards and loud guitars – we also have beer at £1.99 but that’s not as a throwback gimmick, or even because it’s Black Friday. This is a normal night here, a social music club deep in the mainly student community of Leeds. Now having 3 stages and every night is booked, it’s so great to see it thriving when many others are closing down.

Lost Horizons Tonight is a step into the unknown to see a new band, Lost Horizons, performing songs from their debut album ‘Ojalá’ (meaning ‘hopefully’ in Spanish). I’m prompted to check them out as Lost Horizons is a return to playing music for a musical hero, Simon Raymonde, formerly of The Cocteau Twins and the man behind the revered Bella Union record label. Lost Horizons is a joint project with drummer Richie Thomas, formerly of 1980s post-punk band Dif Juz and a guy with an impressive musical pedigree, having toured with iconic acts such as The Jesus and Mary Chain and Felt, as well as The Cocteau Twins.
