Terrorvision Personally, I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday evening than in front of the TV, and by that I mean the giant totally Vegas style letters that adorn the stage whenever Terrorvision are in town.

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes We’re big believers in the mystical at Gig Junkies HQ. A bird shitting in our eye is seen as a blessing rather than a curse. So, when we see not only one rainbow, but a doubler no less and the pot of gold where it ended on route to Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes' gig, we knew we were in for a treat.

Richard Hawley I met Richard Hawley years ago at the bar before a Nick Cave show I’d gone to on the spur of the moment. I didn’t know I’d met him until he appeared on stage as the support act for the night, but that’s where it all started for me. I loved every minute of that set, the 7 or 8 times I’ve seen since and every minute of tonight’s show in Holmfirth.

The Vamps Before we knew it The Vamps arrived on the stage behind a curtain casting silhouette shapes before dropping to the floor revealing Brad who surprised the crowd with ‘Just My Type’. The opening track for the evening had the crowd singing loudly and dancing non-stop from the get go.

Richard Ashcroft As most people know, Wigan is best known for three things, Northern Soul, Pies and The Verve. Tonight we are at the Dome in Doncaster to witness the lead singer of the latter of the three doing his thang! The first would have been OK, but Pies, - heck no thanks! (Well not tonight anyway).

JAWS Having released four sonically diverse singles and ahead of their highly anticipated fourth album and return, JAWS announced a quartet of live dates around the UK. Calling at Glasgow, Manchester, London and finally their hometown of Birmingham, the shows were curiously large for the band and after following their meteoric rise as a completely unsigned band, I was intrigued to see how they matched up to these larger venues at their Birmingham date.

The Blinders It’s not often that Birmingham gets the opening night of the tour, so when it does happen it’s an unmissable occasion. thankfully Doncaster’s finest The Blinders chose Birmingham for the kick off of their 2019 UK and Europe dates. Just like Birmingham’s own Peaky Blinders this gang are not to be messed with, they have already proved themselves a formidable live band with the tunes to back them up. Now it was time for them to be unleashed onto Digbeth.

Newton Faulkner So it’s clear what we’re in for and boy, does he deliver. When Newton Faulkner appears for his set, the audience are immediately enamoured. He clamours onto a platform underneath the scaffold and takes a seat, surrounded by his now uncovered tools and instruments. I notice no shoes and odd socks, his trademark dreads now knotted above his head and the biggest smile on his face.

Rodrigo y Gabriela It’s an experience like no other as a wave of Mexican classical guitar fills the room to create a mass cheer from a pretty much sold out Roundhouse. The grooves coming from the immensely talented Rodrigo y Gabriela fill everyone with joy as every eye is fixed on them.

Suede When David Bowie passed away in 2016 I vowed I’d never again miss the opportunity to see a band I loved, when the opportunity presented itself. So I took the grey and long road from Birmingham to Leeds on a Wednesday night to see one of my favourite all time bands, Suede.
