Reel Big Fish Reel Big Fish are often wrongly dismissed as a novelty or nostalgia act by the uninitiated, but there is so much more to them than that. I last saw the California band at Leeds festival 2004 but since then they have lost the integral multi-instrumentalist and backing vocalist Scott Klopfenstein to family commitments. This is hardly the Aaron Barrett show though, with long time members Johnny Christmas and Derek Gibbs still sharing centre stage with the irrepressible frontman.

Seasick Steve Rarely does the O2 in Sheffield get this rammed, but the fact that the bearded enigma from Oakland, California, Steven Gene Wold, AKA Seasick Steve is in town, has meant that tonight it is full, very full.

The Boomtown Rats Listening to the radio on the day before this gig, Chris Evans said that he had asked Bob Geldof if there would ever be a Live Aid II – his response was, apparently, that he didn’t do nostalgia so no! Well he may not intentionally do nostalgia, but it was certainly a completely nostalgic trip at The Boomtown Rats gig in a wet through Sheffield on this late October night.
