Going back to work after six weeks off is always pretty challenging but to be whisked off to a festival straight afterwards certainly softens the dull ache of no longer being able to eat Coco Pops in your pants at midday. We arrived at Bingley Weekender cautiously optimistic after organisers had stepped in last minute to arrange the festival in place of the institution that is Bingley Music Live. |

One part Bowie, one part Bolan, one part Lennon, one part Holden, Miles Kane embodies all that is great about British rock ’n’ roll. It’s true the guy is as cool as they come! |

Miles Kane inhabits that weird sweet spot in indie guitar music wherein he is pretty much a household name without ever becoming a bona fide pop star. His third album Coup De Grace finds Kane in defiant mood, embracing his heaviest sound yet. |

As a patriotic Brummie I don’t tend to venture too deeply into the unchartered town centre of ‘Cov’ as it’s affectionally called by the locals, because well, they pretty much don’t like us! The lure of a certain Mr Miles Kane however was too strong. So, with geographical allegiances firmly put aside for the evening and disguise well and truly ‘donned’ it was all systems go with a short trip along the Coventry Road! |

So, Gig Junkies make their now annual pilgrimage to Dublin to take in some splendid live music. Last year it was Sir Noel of Gallagher, this time round it was for more rock royalty in the guise of a certain Miles Kane and Alex Turner and their Last Shadow Puppets performing the last of 3 sold out gigs at one of Dublin’s original and most prestigious venues. |

With Christmas approaching, it is inevitable that we consider those less fortunate; the people who battle nights on the street, attempting to get back on their feet. Crisis address this through music, hosting this night with a top line-up, all of whom have given their time, without payment, to raise money for those who need it. And with a line-up consisting of Miles Kane, Emeli Sandé and Paul Weller, it’s certainly worth donating for. |

December is a great time for going to a gig. Christmas is a coming, everyones in the mood for a party, the beers are flowing and if you're going to see the right band then you're in for a belter. So that poses the question... Were Kasabian the right band, to whip the crowd into a frenzy, to get everyone singing in response to the front mans instruction and generally get things rocking? Abso-blummin-lutely!!! There's no-one better. |

Still only 25 years old Miles Kane's now in his forth incarnation having started out in The Little Flames before becoming a Rascal then a Last Shadow Puppet (with his best bud Alex Turner). Now he's trying the old solo approach, albeit with an impressive band behind him (including Eugene McGuiness...himself a fine solo talent), a couple of Cherry Ghost and...er...the son of Beady Eye's drummer. |
