Taylor Swift As the lights dimmed we were deafened by high pitched screams and almost blinded by the multitude of neon lights being brandished by the tweens (slight exaggeration) Taylor Swift built the crowd up into a frenzy with Willows's 'Whip My Hair' in the same manner in which a boxer makes his way into the ring. The only difference here was 15,000 feet stamping up and down quickly in unison in growing excitement. Oh, and Taylor Swift is not a boxer!

Paramore Paramore came onto the stage to the high-pitched chants of "Paramore, Paramore". The curtains dropped, music blasted in and 'BOOM'. Lot's of happy kiddy-winks. What instantly becomes apparent when watching the Nashville pop/punk out fit is that their whirling dervish of a diminutive lead singer has got one hell of a voice. She's also got more energy than a box of frogs. She simply oozes the stuff. Needless to say the crowd went bonkers as Hayley, together with her shocking pink syrup, belted out hit 'Ignorance'. A great opener.

The Black Keys In a situation resembling that of the Amy Macdonald gig a week earlier, where I knew absolutely nothing about the artist, I had a similar dilemma with The Black Keys. This time however it was at the other end of the spectrum - I'd seen the duo from Akron Ohio, more times than you can shake a stick at! Reason being.... I love em! The fact that they are a two piece with so much more raw power than most four and five piece bands have, gets me every time. Dan with his growling vocal - akin to a young Paul Rogers together with his snarling guitar lines, ably complimented by Pat on the marauding drums is right up my strata. I make no bones about it. I love, love, love em. Consequently it's pretty hard to give a balanced, entirely objective view. By the powers vested in me as a professional journo however, by golly I'd try!

Lissie Lissie. Ahhhhh lovely Lissie, or as she's more formally known Elisabeth Maurus. You can't help but like the girl from Illinois, with her flowing blonde hair and inviting smile, It helps that she's got an array of absolute belting tunes too! "Happy Halloween" Lissie greeted the eclectic crowd who ranged from Radio 2 oldies, through to lip pierced Kerrangies as she opened with 'Here Before' - a melodic slow burner which from her 2009 EP 'Why are you Runnin?". JAY-Z Is Jay-Z the best rapper ever? This was the topic of conversation between my friends and I on the way to the LG Arena Wednesday night. You see people always mention names like Eminem, Tupac and Biggie but people seem to sleep on the man born Shawn Corey Carter. Jay-Z is critically acclaimed within the whole of the rap industry, with 10 Grammy awards (and many more nominations) to his name whilst selling around 40 million albums worldwide. His latest album and 11th studio release “Blueprint 3” went straight to number one on the Billboard 200 last year (like each album before it), which was a record for a solo act in the history of the album charts, surpassing the late, great Elvis Presley who had 10. With the album sales, awards and even historical records piling up, surely Jay deserves to be mentioned as one of the greatest solo artists of our generation, never mind just the rap game?
