The sweaty crowd had started to get leery in the crowded conditions within the Birmingham O2 Institute and cheered after The Cult leader reached out to his disciples to make it a peaceful night.

Miguel As druid figures stood on the stage strumming a funky beat to the eagerly awaiting crowd, as if to summons up a God. The crowd exploded as their martyr appeared, looking angelic with a white fringed cowboy jacket, white jeans and Cuban heels Miguel gyrated his way with his top bearing toned flesh into “The Thrill“. Having earlier this year performed with Minneapolis legend Prince in the Baltimore Rally for Peace, it was clear to say looking at the 29 year old Californian, you could see how his influence had rubbed onto him, resembling a Love sexy era purple one with his raunchy dancing and racier lyrics, he knew how to work the crowd as the majority of female admirers gazed longingly at him and those who were accompanied by their partners, were left pleasantly surprised at what the singer delivered.

Having spent 17 of my formative years growing up in Middlesbrough I know how ‘unfairly’ difficult it can be breaking through into any creative area of the arts being a Northerner, and although there has been some controversy surrounding James Arthur it should not detract from the fact that James is an impressive performer.

The Quireboys On arrival at Robin 2 in Bilston, I awaited the entrance of fascinating act, The Quireboys. Talented young artist Louis Coupe (lead singer of The Rooz) was on stage setting the scene and getting the audience ready for the rock styled acoustics of the main act. Firstly on the guitar then playing the piano this support was an entertaining artist warming up the audience nicely.
