V Festival 2016 With a stellar line up confirmed, wellies packed and flower headbands securely on, we headed to Weston Park, Staffordshire for a weekend of amazing live music, reviews and a cider or two! Even with the threat of rain all weekend nothing could dampen our spirits to party with V Festival and help celebrate their momentous 21st Birthday in serious style. Featuring a line up of world class acts including, pop royalty Rihanna, vocal powerhouse Sia and the controversial Justin Bieber on the main stage there were sure to be a few fireworks along the way!

V Festival, Weston Park, Stafford For years, the chart topping foundations of V festival has drawn in the mainstream music crowds, the playlist hand-picked when ripe by the elitists of the industry; put together with the ease of celebrity status. Godiva Festival Coventry War Memorial Park is the home of Godiva Festival. Now in its 16th year, Godiva played host this weekend to an audience of around 125,000 for three days of live music, street theatre, comedy and disco as well as a host of family and community activities. The music was a diverse range of rock, indie, pop, punk, ska, rap, including local talent aplenty, with a number of Godiva Calling competition winners performing on both of the main stages. With music coming from established and up and coming artists Godiva, brought a great mix of the old and new, and best of all it was all free. (Yes free!!)

Midland's Goth Festival Headlining tonight Vince Ripper and the Rodent Show mixed DJ beats, 50's garage rock, pyschobilly and industrial sounds. The Rodent AKA Andrew 'Ratfink' Wilson, sporting a full-on voodoo-goth persona complete with bone-trimmed hat and Marilyn Manson eyes, howled and screeched over The Ripper's backing tracks and theremin breaks.

Slam Dunk Festival North It’s not that often you get lost in a university students union. How many of them are big enough that you end up walking in circle passing by the supermarket and terrace bar on several occasions before you realise you’ve wandered past the room you wanted twice? Well Leeds University Student Union is one such place you can do that which was why it turned out to be an excellent host for the Slam Dunk Festival North on Saturday.

V Festival Weston Park Stafford If day one was all about catching an eclectic mix artists (and in hindsight having one too many beers) day two was about the golden oldies with the likes of the ‘Charlatans’, ‘Weller’ and the ‘Phonics’ all performing. The sun had his hat on, pass was securely round my neck and all was right with the World – it was gonna be a good un!
