Frank Turner In a packed out Camden Roundhouse, just under 2,000 fans eagerly anticipated the grand entry of the greatest showman that is Frank Turner. And his entry is certainly epic as his band mate trips him over whilst running onto the stage, falling flat on his face. An extremely embarrassed Frank Turner curses and laughs at guitarist Ben Lloyd as he continues to start the show with the energetic and upbeat ‘1933’.

Sigrid 50 CENT, Corinne Bailey Rae and Michael Kiwanuka are among the previous winners of the ‘BBC Sound of’ award in their respective years. All of these artists have gone on to achieve spectacular success in the music world and are all currently active in writing and touring. So it’s no surprise for me to be blown away by the incredible talent of this years winner, Sigrid, as she opens her latest UK tour in Brighton.

Jake Bugg Over the years we have been spoiled by the talent that has come from Nottingham. From the legendary Bruce Dickinson to the legendary drummer, Ian Paice. But if you happened to find yourself at the London Palladium on the 26th of February this year, you would have been treated to a very different style of musical talent to have emerged from the English midlands. The incredibly talented Jake Bugg graced the London theatre tonight to spread his eclectic mix of Americana Indie rock.

Möngöl Hörde A strange ringing motif fills the space as hundreds of metal heads prepare for the war, conducted by Frank Turner and his musical alter-ego Möngöl Hörde. There was a universal switch in everyones head as we all knew we would be saying ‘Hey Judas’ and causing mayhem to the song of the same name. Before I could inhale in preparation for the strong embrace of a full bearded man rugby tackling me, I found myself on the ground in a state of shock for the energy that has just been orchestrated by Frank Turner. As I stagger to my feet I am confronted by the man himself as he crowd surfs right in front of me and is screaming in my face. At this point I have no choice but to familiarised myself with this wild beast I see in front of me.
