SkunkAnansie Do you ever get that feeling that you've just been a part of something really special, something really relevant? Saturday night, Brixton Academy, Skunk Anansie felt exactly like that. And judging by the crowd, it felt like that for 1000's of others too. 'Fascism..stop it DEAD in its track!' Skin's words resonate through me days later. Skunk Anansie have always been a special band, always pushing the boundaries and breaking barriers; they smashed it back in the early days, and they still smash it in 2017.

Halsey Halsey shows up late, and fashionably: she slips onto the stage in a white, faux-fur jacket, embodying her debut album cover. Opening with ‘Gasoline’, she asks Brixton, “Are you insane like me? Been in pain like me?” and the crowd sing along with enough conviction to answer her question.

Alexisonfire Tonight marks the last night that Alexisonfire will be on a UK stage. Their second, and final night at Brixton Academy held a distinct sadness between the band and their fans, but as vocalist George Pettit rightly exclaims, “this is not a funeral, it’s a fucking wake”.

Faith No More After this year’s Sonisphere Festival was cancelled, UK fans of Faith No More thought their chance of seeing the band play this year had been dashed, but the Gods were smiling on us and a few weeks later the band announced two shows in London to try and fill the void. Happy Days! Obviously both shows sold out in a matter of minutes and thus as a lifelong fan I was one happy photographer come reviewer as I made my way down to the smoke.
