JAWS Having released four sonically diverse singles and ahead of their highly anticipated fourth album and return, JAWS announced a quartet of live dates around the UK. Calling at Glasgow, Manchester, London and finally their hometown of Birmingham, the shows were curiously large for the band and after following their meteoric rise as a completely unsigned band, I was intrigued to see how they matched up to these larger venues at their Birmingham date.

Har Mar Superstar Har Mar Superstar took to the stage – with Lizzo as one of his backing singers. Wearing a white tassled leather jacket with a black hoody underneath (the Hare and Hounds is a bit chilly in the winter!) he gyrated around the stage showing off his more mature well rounded funk sound. Great rapport between Sean and Lizzo during DUI and then it was off with the leather jacket, to reveal a sequinned poncho over a geometric print tee. I love his playfulness with fashion, and seemingly so do a lot of women in the crowd who were cooing over him.

Fyfe Dangerfield Spring. A time of rebirth and new growth. How ironic then that this festival is the closing event for Ikon Eastside, one of the first local victims of the public spending cuts. Good to know we've still got billions to spend on bailing out bankrupt countries and bombing others to oblivion, but not a few grand for art and culture eh?
