Biffy Clyro Tonight is the second night of Biffy's first ever run of headline arena shows and they well and truly smash it with one of the most epic performances I've seen from them. They have seriously stepped up their game and when the first chords for 'Different People' ring out across the huge venue the curtain drops to reveal one hell of a stage set-up. What looks like a massive rib cage made out of trees takes up the majority of the stage behind which a massive screen flashes images throughout the performance and is definitely an impressive sight.

Biffy Clyro Biffy Clyro aren't my usual cup of tea. Don't get me wrong, I think they are a talented group of musicians and are really popular, just not my bag. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained and thus it was that I found myself reviewing some heavy rock music on a grim and cold Monday Night at the new O2 Academy in Brum. I was actually pretty excited for a couple of reasons. I was looking forward to seeing the new venue (it was the Dome last time i went - am I showing my age!) and secondly I'd heard that Biffy, on the day of their new album release 'Only Revolutions', were being supported by Manchester Orchestra. Get in! It was going to be a night to remember.

Nine Black Alps A jaunt to the Hairy Hounds once more to see a band I’ve read about but never actually listened to, partly ‘cos I’m a bit slack like but mainly ‘cos whenever I go onto/into MyBook, YourFace or SpaceTube I inevitably get distracted by some Albanian Gangster Rap, videos of exploding goldfish or messages from people I’ve never met offering to enhance the length of my manhood for just $68 a month. For $68 a month I’d want my manhood to do all the housework, rustle up a nice bit of tea and sing me to sleep too. Why can’t science be more useful eh?
