Alice in Chains Seattle legends Alice in Chains paid a flying visit to the UK for two shows in the run up to the release of their new album due later this year and before they spend the whole summer on a huge run of festival shows. We were lucky enough to catch them at Leeds Academy, the first of the two nights.

Alice in Chains If you were to do a ‘Rock Family Tree’ of the Seattle music scene and those associated with it, it would become a crazed scribble like a spider had gone mad on the page. And in Brum tonight (another ‘legendary home of metal’), some of that scrawl comes our way, with a rather unusual left-field ‘blip’ in the middle. Alice in Chains Alice in Chains have returned once again in 2013 with new album ‘The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here’. Heavy and raw, AiC maintain their power, strength and uniquely influential sound. If 2009’s album ‘Black Gives Way to Blue’ was an acknowledgement to past days, difficult times and re-birth, than the new album firmly establishes them once again as one of the power players in alternative metal, making as relevant today, as they were in the past. Rousing and mesmerizing guitars riffs, complimented by DuVall and Cantrell on vocals - one of the must listen albums of the year.
