Suzanne Vega Returns to the UK

Pioneering American singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega returns to the UK in 2014 with her eight album ‘Tales from the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles’. This is her first studio recording of new material in seven years, and will be released on her own label, Amanuensis Productions in February 2014. It is a collection of ten songs, each telling a story on how the material world, and spiritual world both intersect.

Suzanne said, “We tried the songs out on the road, adjusting them every night depending on how they felt live. We’ve gradually made changes to lyrics, melodies, keys, tempos and arrangements. ‘I Never Wear White’ has proven itself to be a crowd favourite night after night, whether we were playing in Arkansas or Tokyo”.

With songs such as ‘Marlene on the Wall’, the Grammy nominated/MTV award winning ‘Luka’, the hugely successful album ‘Solitude Standing’, and acappella song “Tom’s Diner’ which was a worldwide remix hit for UK-based dance duo DNA in the early 90’s, Suzanne Vega has come to be regarded as the vanguard of a new generation of female singer/songwriters. With her gentle, yet powerfully political acoustic pop, she has inspired a generation of female singer/songwriters such as KT Tunstall, Tracey Chapman, and Alanis Morrisette.
