The last time I saw Ray Quinn (musically) was 9 years ago when he released his debut album ‘Doing It My Way’. 2015 saw Ray head back into the studio to start work on a new commercial sound that would return him to his music, bringing us to the 2016 ‘No Man’s Land’ Tour.

Tonight at The Robin 2, a group of fans of all ages gather outside before being let into the venue to take a seat and get settled before the show commenced.

The set was broken down into three sections ‘Cover Songs’, ‘Jazz & Swing Sound’ and finally new material from his forthcoming album.

From the get go fans were eager for Ray to take his shirt off with different members of the audience shouting “Come on Ray, Take your shirt off” in between tracks, but I’m sure they were only concerned for his welfare as the venue was like a sauna inside and surely they didn’t want him passing out with the heat! Am I right ladies?

That aside Ray came out and covered an multitude of songs including Ed Sheeran’s – ‘Thinking Out Loud’. Hopefully you’ll be hearing recorded versions of these soon online as when we interviewed Mr. Quinn he gave us a little insight into what’s to come before the big album release.

The night was smooth running with song after song; the crowd was singing along all the way and not forgetting the odd dancers here and there around the room moving along to his versions of the classic jazz and swing hits.

But now it was that time in the set for the new material, how would crowd react to the new tracks, the new sound Ray has been building for himself over the past few year.

Well, I can say I think the new sound went down well, there was plenty of bums on seats having a ‘wiggle’ and by the end of the night everyone was on their feet down at the front of the stage dancing away to title track ‘No Man’s Land’.
