Gig Review and Photography by Kris Askey

Peace

An incredible gig from a band that you can’t help but love.

Peace

I guess that’s the short review for the night that Peace played the Wolverhampton Civic Hall on 10/10/15. The English indie rock quartet graced the stage as the curtains lifted up, and from the ear shattering sound of the crowd you knew that this was going to be a happy gig, for happy fans, on the ‘Happy People’ tour.

Peace

Starting the set with ‘O You’ brought you right upto speed with the opening number from their latest album. The infectious sounds put you somewhere with a hazy summer backdrop, and all your body wants to do is move, groove & jump around as the tunes flow from verse to chorus & back again.

Harry “Harrison” Koisser fronts the band with the lead vocals & Harry’s brother Samuel Koisser, Douglas Castle & Dominic Boyce provide the guitar, bass and drums that complete Peace. The 4 boys from Worcester played through a setlist that boasted previously released singles from ‘In Love’ and ‘Happy People’ as well as some absolute gems that fit perfectly in between.

After moving from the very front of the crowd to the very back, it wasn’t hard to tell that this gig wanted to shake the walls and kick the roof off. ‘Lovesick’ made the place feel like a bouncy castle. Fans with constant smiles were crowdsurfing their way to the front whilst some decided to sit on their friends/lovers shoulders and get literally high from what was unfolding. Going to a gig is all about the music, but if you blinked then you’d be guilty of missing a brilliant light show and stage setup that accompanied the bands high energy on stage.

The band were supported on the night by YAK and also SPLASHH, both bands did an exceptional job of warming up the crowd as well as gaining some new followers.
