Leeds is no stranger to punk shows, and with tonight’s co headliners we’re in for a treat. First to take to the stage are London band Spoilers. Whilst these guys are tight, it’s odd to hear american accents whilst singing brushed with cockney in between songs. It’s unfortunate for them being on so early too as the room is barely full and feels like their performance is something that you’ve seen before.

Lagwagon Lagwagon are a welcome change entering to the theme tune of The A Team. Singer Joey Cape draws everyones attention and has many seasoned fans singing every word from the front with a good measure of fist pumping to suit. With songs such as “Mr Coffee”, “May 16th” & “Know it All” resonate well and everyone cheers, they’ve done very well.

Alkaline Trio

It is debatable as to whether Alkaline Trio should have the headline slot tonight, depending on who you are talking to of course. Singer Matt Skiba delivers, proving that frontmen can perform behind a guitar and has most of the room singing along to anthems such as “Radio” & “Stupid Kid”. It is also nice to see Skiba promoting his bands own merchandise this evening whilst on stage, I’m sure sales of said item will improve as the night goes on. The band make very little chit chat and power through each track, no complaints.

NOFX take to the stage after a somewhat delayed start, technical difficulties halt proceedings but singer Fat Mike takes this in his stride and uses the time to warm the audience to his liking. “Franco Un American” is delivered well along with “Don’t Call Me White” & “Linoleum”. Whilst the songs are tight, the performance is a true punk show (in a good way). Banter about radishes and playing for 30mins but talking for a further hour & half gets laughs from the crowd. They deliver a proper show and involve everyone in the room, it’s clear that this is who everyone has come to see, it’s no wonder that these guys have been going for over 20 years.
