Gig Junkies Year in Review 2017

Posted by Bianca on Friday Dec 29, 2017 Under Gig Junkies Review, Various

As the New Year commences, Gig Junkies reminisce on a year of incredible acts, whilst our musical playlists expand beyond the limits of our memories, we will always be able to return to our stockpile of photographs and reviews to remind us of those unforgettable musical moments from 2017.

Our relentless team of photographers and writers have captured 255 gigs and festivals, 15 album reviews, one exhibition and three interviews including a charismatic catch up with one of the biggest sounds of 2017, The Amazons.

Discovering newbies on the block such as Tom Walker in grass-root venues to the likes of Goulding and Gallagher who’ve a plethora of hits we cannot refrain from echoing. From the picturesque views of Boardmasters Cornish coastline to the retro record sounds of Bananarama, we’ve seen re-grams from shock rock idol Alice Cooper, plus Blondie in a bumble-bee mask.

Not without its heart-breaks, we were fortunate enough to cover some of the last live performances by Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington and Tom Petty, reminding us just how precious life is and giving true appreciation to the joy and unity that live music bring us all.

Festival fever brought us the likes of P!NK and Jay Z whilst grime has formed fans like never before with Stormzy taking the lead.

Gearing up the tempo we’ve witnessed KISS and Gun n’ Roses plus seen some serious hotness with fiesty divas Dua Lipa and Little Mix doing it for the girls! Talented trio London Grammar bring us yet more electronica dream-pop and Brandon hits back with The Killers tour and track ‘The Man’ named Hottest Record of the Year by Radio 1.

We excitedly await 2018’s exhilarating if not eventful moments in music…
