One of the hottest days of 2017 saw one of the hottest shows of the year at the Gloucester Guildhall as indie rockers Circa Waves stopped by for an intimate warmup show ahead of their appearance on the Other Stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

Despite a late start, fans were greeted with two decent showings from local acts Cali O and Polary, taking us from a mellow hybrid-acoustic set through to blazing pop-punk in the space of an hour.

The Liverpudlian four-piece then stormed through a blistering 50-minute, 12 song set featuring some of the bands most driving and energetic tracks right from the outset. Kicking off with ‘Wake Up’, the lead track from their 2017 album ‘Different Creatures’, the band kept fans dancing through the heat – with frontman Kieran Shudall commanding the audience and conducting mid-song mosh pits.

Despite the ridiculous surprise summer heatwave, the hundreds in attendance returned the band’s energy and love throughout, jumping and dancing their way all the way through to the ever-popular ‘T-Shirt Weather’, which closed the show.

A lively and confident performance from one of the hottest indie bands of the last few years, on one of the hottest nights in recent memory!
