Transglobal Underground Firstly, what and who are Transglobal Underground? Well ‘TGU’ have been around since the early 1990s (first album ‘Dream of 100 Nations’); they are a ground-breaking band fusing dance music, reggae, Asian, middle-eastern and African music styles. In their extravagant shows they feature live percussion (lots of it) and other instruments like sitar, as well as using electronic sounds, beats and samples.

Snarky Puppy To say American Jazz Sweethearts Snarky Puppy playing London's iconic Royal Albert Hall was a little magical is probably the understatement of the year. Having come a long way since Bill Laurence and Michael League formed the across the border alliance in a queue for a Jamiroqui workshop in Camden many years back, the funk and talent oozed from the stage within it's latest line-up which is also being recorded live tonight.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre It’s almost time for The Brian Jonestown Massacre to take the stage. How do I know? I know because an extremely enthusiastic fan spots someone backstage and cries, “Here it is! Denim on denim!” Oh my. That’s nothing on Anton Newcombe’s deerstalker. Newcombe is general emperor, vocalist, and one of the guitarists. They have many guitarists, and many, many, many guitars. They’re living proof that there’s no such thing as too many guitars or sunglasses. There are seven band members on stage in total, and the majority of them are wearing sunglasses. I can only assume that they’re going for the too-cool stoic look. (Either that or they’re hiding an infection).

Fish It’s Christmas! Well indeed the lights are festively shining and the punters in town for the German Market, so it must be Christmas in Birmingham. And temptingly we walk past the food and alcohol to make it to the Town Hall, resisting the temptations, as tonight we're in the sold out performance of one Derek William Dick aka Fish, with his Last Return to Childhood tour.

Peter Gabriel Tonight to the last time for this particular Gig Junkies team at the LG Arena before it morphs into the Genting Arena. We’re here to see a performer who founded one of the biggest bands in rock history way back in 1967, who became prog rock legends. Just seven years in he left, they went on to sell over 140 million records - but he didn’t do too bad, businessman, singer-songwriter, record producer, humanitarian activist, and a solo performer in his own right - tonight he’ll be performing his classic,  most commercial and ridiculously successful 1986 album in it’s entirety - welcome tonight Mr. Peter Gabriel, performing “Back to Front’ including ‘So’ in it’s entirety.
