The Stanley Clarke Band I have been to the Brudenell Social Club quite a few times now, mostly to indie bands that are either breaking it through or are making a big noise on the “scene”…. So tonight when I drew up towards the club, for it is a club (think workingman's club not Studio 54 - yes really) I thought there must be somebody else on as well as the fabulous Stanley Clarke, after all, who would queue round the block to see an obscure jazz bass player?

Birdy @ Somerset House Walking onto Somerset House's stage in vivid, show stopping green, Birdy looks shy, and even a little uncomfortable. The 21 year-old released her debut at the tender age of 15, and while she has shed her sparse covers for more powerful pop ballads, her youthful awkwardness remains.

u2 “There are more than 300 languages spoken in this city. Is London not the capital of the World?” These were the words of iconic front man Bono, as Irish rockers U2, performed in London on Saturday night in celebration of the 30th anniversary of their 1987 ground-breaking album, The Joshua Tree. Nostalgia was tangible in the air and Twickenham Stadium was packed with excited fans that likely were at this very album’s promotional tour three decades ago.

Linkin Park It's a very warm night as a few thousand head towards Birmingham's Barclaycard Arena. Tonight's main (and only) artists have always kinda divided opinion; like Marmite - you love them or hate them. Their latest offering has also added to that confusion with somewhat of a backlash from the critics. The fans are here in droves, so clearly they don't feel that; so welcome tonight to Bennington, Shinoda and the rest of the chaps who make up Linkin Park, this date part of their 'One More Light' World Tour.

Gogol Bordello Leeds on the 5th of July was thronged with gig-goers, mostly for some band called Blink 182, but the more discerning music fan (sorry Blink fans) headed not to the vast shed of the Arena, rather they were popping along to what was about to become the sweatiest place on the planet to listen to some Ukrainian Gypsy Punks do their stuff. Yes, Gogol Bordello were in town!.

Coheed and Cambria This power-house American prog-rock band Coheed and Cambria performed their 2005 smash-album, “Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness” in its entirety at KOKO, London on an absolutely sweltering Monday night as part of their “The NEVERENDER GAIBSIV” tour. To see a band, play an entire album from start to finish is a unique experience and a first for me. The second night of two London dates was attended by a lot of clearly obsessively dedicated fans which nearly packed out the 1500 capacity venue.

Arcade Fire The headlines were huge, one of the biggest bands in the world were coming to play in Scunthorpe, yes Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire, in England. Arcade Fire hadn’t played in England for nearly 3 years and now they were breaking that drought with a trip to Scunthorpe. Up to this point dear Reader Scunthorpe had really only been known as the butt of many a joke, but on the 7th June 2017 they were hosting one of the biggest bands on the planet. Imagine Dragons In anticipation of the upcoming third studio album Evolve (ƎVOLVE), scheduled for release later this month, American alt-rock band Imagine Dragons played a very special show at Roundhouse last night and Adila and I were fortunate enough to attend it. Having two of the top ten most downloaded songs in rock history, 'Radioactive' and 'Demons', the band has had a meteoric rise to fame from playing small venues in front of 100 to some of the biggest music festivals in the world and being able to draw a crowd of early-twenty-somethings that literally went around the block when I arrived at the venue.

Depeche Mode Legendary. Inspirational. Influential. Iconic. These words are more than apt for a band that have delivered so much on multiple levels for well over three decades, and remain right at the top of their game. Bizarrely in the UK, their home turf, they have remained stuck in this "cult like" status, while across the rest of the world they are at the top of all touring artists with stadia tours. Well tonight, after a career of more that 37 years, to a sold out London Stadium with a potential gig capacity of 80,000, Depeche Mode have come home. To show us exactly what they are giving to the rest of the world on a their 'Global Spirit' Tour.
