Chronixx This was my first time seeing Chronixx live, as much as I had admired his music over the years, through a series of events, timing and life just happening I always missed out the opportunity. Not tonight, having scaled that breath taking hill in a figurative sense to get to Alexander Palace or as the locals like to call it Ally Pally, I knew I was in for a treat with the amount of dreadlock bearing folks that I saw on my way up. The atmosphere was very carnival, every facet of your senses are being used, the smell of the flavoursome variety of Jamaican food, the plethora of colours that we have come to expect from Jamaican Fashionistas.

Kioko If you’re reading this it’s safe to assume that you love music, and hopefully you hate racism. If that’s the case, check out Love Music, Hate Racism! They were founded in 2002 during a time of increasing prejudice (remember that time the BNP started to gain support? *Shudder*). They’ve been peacefully campaigning for equality across all ethnic groups ever since, using gigs that celebrate love and acceptance.

Last night two of the heavy weights of Birmingham’s rich music heritage took to the stage for a special gig. Steele Pulse and UB40 were gracing the main room of O2 Academy in Birmingham. It was a sell-out gig pack from front to back with Brummies’ of all descriptions, demographic and ages.
