New Power Generation It's always something special to see your childhood musical icons come across the pond to the UK, even more so when it's your hometown but I think tonight at Birmingham's iconic Institute building had that added magic, whether it be the tightness of the sound or how lead singer MacKenzie has evolved on stage, it's no doubt "Rock ’n’ Roll is alive and lives in Minneapolis" as the legendary New Power Generation wowed the crowds.

McFly "I know what you’re thinking, McFly just got sexier" - Dougie Poynter McFly are back, people, and they are on fire! I’m not just referring to the pyrotechnics here, the pop-rock band made fan’s dreams come true by reuniting for an awesome ‘one night only’ gig at the O2 Arena in London on Wednesday night. The whole evening was filled with sing-your-heart-out classic tunes, such as ‘Obviously’ and ‘Star Girl’, bad jokes, "You wanna hear a joke? I’m a professional musician!" (by Dougie) and catchy new songs. It was everything you would want from McFly.

Adam Ant Adam Ant - Friend or Foe? He’s Still A Dandy Looking Highwayman! Tonight I had several flashbacks to very late 70’s school discos with the punks, rockers, skaboys and new romantics all dutifully dressed up in their tribal costumes, and at some point during the night ‘Antmusic’ would be played and we’d all kind of enjoy it, we probably all had a copy of the ‘Kings of the Wild Frontier’ album - whether we admitted it to our affiliated tribe or not!

Sleeping with Sirens ‘Tonight in London we are going to play all the dope-ass ones!’… and they sure lived up to this statement. For those of you who thought Sleeping with Sirens are turning pop and going mellow, you’re in for a treat with their new album and definitely with their live performances. Returning to their original heaviness, SWS made a pleasantly surprising comeback this year with ‘How It Feels To Be Lost’ released via Sumerian Records. However, their UK tour shows took it up another level, with an even heavier sound, complimented by a masterful visual display of lights and shadows.

Men At Work Like many people of my generation, my first experience of Men At Work was Colin Hay, strumming his guitar in the daydreams of JD, in popular 2000s sitcom Scrubs. Overkill was the song in question, and once I’d busted out the dial up connection and spent 45 minutes downloading the track via Napster, I was hooked.

Backstreet Boys What has the world come to? It’s been making me so distraught! What the hell has happened to boybands??? They’re all in mismatched clothes; they move about the stage with no purpose; and sometimes even have the audacity to play live instruments. That’s not what I want. I want matching outfits, synchronised dancing, over the top harmonies and cheddar cheesy key changes! It’s a good job that the world’s number one selling boyband stopped by England’s capital for a couple of shows. Back to basics and back in town. BACKSTREET IS OFFICIALLY BACK, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.

Twenty One Pilots With 30 awards from 96 nominations including a Grammy it was clear to see why the city of Birmingham had been grasped by a yellow fever. Bang Bang Romeo In 2015 Bang Bang Romeo played the small This Feeling stage at the Isle Of Wight Festival. John Giddings, no less, tipped them as future main stage headliners back then. Only three years later they were opening that main stage on the festival’s 50th anniversary to a record crowd for an opening act. This year sees them supporting Pink on the European leg of her world tour and the band embarking on their first headline tour. Tonight in Leeds is the last night of that tour and along with several other dates it’s a sell out. Through pure hard work and undeniable talent BBR are now a major player with their destiny firmly in their own hands.

Good Charlotte "Who has been listening to Good Charlotte for a long ass time? We’ve grown up together haven’t we? Let’s go back…" Good Charlotte performed the final show of the European leg of the Generation Rx tour Wednesday night at the iconic Alexandra Palace. Surprisingly, it was their biggest show in the UK since the band formed in 1996. Although the show wasn’t sold out, the grand venue was chock-full of atmosphere and pop punk devotees sticking to the unofficial dress code of a hoodie and vans ready for an alternative night to sitting at home watching the Brit Awards.
