Black Flag After a rip roaring opener there is only one word to describe Black Flag and that’s underwhelming. When you finally get round to seeing stalwarts of the scene you want to feel a build up of energy for when they enter the stage. As the between bands pop-punk playlist continues to ring out they they casually embrace their instruments to the sounds of Fall Out Boy’s Arms Race; positioning their A3 laminated set list for all to see. There was something comical and tragic about the affair. As if a contemporary Shakespeare had penned the moment a punk dream died.

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes We’re big believers in the mystical at Gig Junkies HQ. A bird shitting in our eye is seen as a blessing rather than a curse. So, when we see not only one rainbow, but a doubler no less and the pot of gold where it ended on route to Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes' gig, we knew we were in for a treat.

Melvins I’d heard rumours after the Melvins set in Digbeth last year that ear drums were blown and minds were melted. I expected much of the same when they played the O2 Academy on Tuesday, and with my ears still ringing I can easily say they delivered.

NOFX A license to hate, Dad jokes and kick ass women. It was a line-up devised as much for the bands’ enjoyment as it was crowd pleasing.

The Bronx A mere 30 yards away from Camden Town tube station, you come across a strange set of double doors they look like they lead to the ground floor of a block of offices. Only this time, the stairs lead you further down to the depths of one of London's most popular venues. I am in fact talking about the Electric Ballroom. Many incredible artists have played here such as Muse, Beck and George Ezra. But if you were to be present on the 10th June 2018, you would have been witness to large mosh pits and the screams of one Matt Caughthran. All of this, curtesy of The Bronx. A pure punk rock band from Los Angeles, California.

Code Orange Pittsburgh heavier-than-hell hardcore crew Code Orange are undoubtedly the breakthrough band in heavy music of the past year or two. Their third album, Forever, took them onto a major label and astonishingly found them being nominated for a Grammy for the title track. For a band who have been described as "nightmarishly chaotic hardcore”, this is no minor feat.

Möngöl Hörde A strange ringing motif fills the space as hundreds of metal heads prepare for the war, conducted by Frank Turner and his musical alter-ego Möngöl Hörde. There was a universal switch in everyones head as we all knew we would be saying ‘Hey Judas’ and causing mayhem to the song of the same name. Before I could inhale in preparation for the strong embrace of a full bearded man rugby tackling me, I found myself on the ground in a state of shock for the energy that has just been orchestrated by Frank Turner. As I stagger to my feet I am confronted by the man himself as he crowd surfs right in front of me and is screaming in my face. At this point I have no choice but to familiarised myself with this wild beast I see in front of me.

The Bronx Welcome to an evening with Los angles finest, The Bronx. Now in their 15th year The Bronx deal in no nonsense dirty punk rock and roll, they play hard fast and tonight's sold out Mama Roux's crowd are here to bump heads and party hard. Having seen them several times tonight feels extra special as we were being treated to new album 'V' in its entirety. If I'm honest the new album is still growing on me so I was interested to see how it sounded live… I'm happy to report its sounds like a happy drunk dancing in the corner of a wedding with a little bit of gravy and sick on its shirt… Trust me thats a good thing.

Ho99o9 It seems natural that a band with such a name as Ho99o9 would one day rock up to play within the walls of Brighton venue The Haunt. Not solely due to their shared ghoulish names, but rather due to this venue being the kind of one that punk spirited bands such as Ho99o9 thrive in.

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes As is customary on ‘these types’ of evenings the ‘Facial Hair per attendee’ ratio was a good 30% higher than a normal gig. Yes ladies and gentlemen a certain Mr Frank Carter was in town with his Rattlesnakes to deliver their own unique brand of English hardcore punk. It was gonna be wild, gonna be raucous and gonna be a whole lot of fun.

Every Time I Die Every Time I Die need no introduction and have been smashing shows like this for nearly 20 years! Just let that sink in, 20 years and still more hungry and passionate than most new bands. Even in a cast Jordan Buckley flails around the stage like a man possessed. Brother Keith conducts the carnage and grins manically as he paces the stage. It was great to finally hear tracks from Low Teens in their natural environment and they sound magnificent.
