APE Presents Victoria Park is a place that the locals of the area visit for lovely runs, dog walks and picnic dates. It’s a truly tranquil and enjoyable place that people come to relax. So it would have been a bit of a shock for those on their daily dog walk to see their path cut short by the large installation that is All Points East. In the festival’s first year running, the opening weekend went down a storm. Today, Victoria park was jam packed full of festival goers ready to see the incredibly popular Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Arcadia Taking place within London’s iconic Olympic Park and designed to celebrate Arcadia’s tenth anniversary this two day, three staged festival offered an experience that can’t be found at any other. Arcadia has a trump card up its sleeve. Rather than sell itself on a long list of household names; the draw is in-fact something that you won’t be able to get at any other festival – a unique and attention grabbing stage that’s built to resemble a giant mechanized Spider that wouldn’t look out of place in the Terminator film franchise.

Electric Dreams It’s the beginning of December and I’m at a seaside resort for my final festival of 2017, but I’m not here for a sandy beach and a few waves. I’m at Butlin’s in Bognor Regis for the second ‘Electric Dreams Weekender’, a collaboration between Butlin’s Live Music Weekends and Vintage TV that creates a weekend of performances by classic synthesiser based bands, and some of their younger ‘Future Vintage’ contemporaries across two stages. An adults only weekend, the grown ups can leave the kids at home and enjoy a range of entertainment across the site including discos, live music, quizzes, food and drink in the many restaurants and bars. Imagine one of the retro festivals but without the camping, as the resort accommodation provides the creature comforts for the more discerning festival goer.

BBC Music Introducing BBC Music Introducing... is, somehow, already celebrating its tenth birthday. In that decade, legions of young artists have been given the opportunity of a lifetime- to be played on primetime radio. For some of them, it led them to stardom, and for many, it is just about to. Tonight is a celebration of that fact.

Beyond The Tracks 2017 In it's initial year as a first festival, Beyond The Tracks had a point to prove. With a lineup full of Indie/Alt greats from Birmingham and Beyond carefully cultivated by the masterminds behind the City's prestigious Moseley Folk Festival, it certainly did this. Over the course of the weekend, the Festival hosted acts such as Orbital, Faithless, indie royalty Maximo Park and the Coral before closing on Sunday evening with The Jesus and Mary Chain pioneers of the early noughties Birmingham Indie scene, Editors. Sadly the weather was not on the side of Beyond The Tracks, but this didn't stop music fans showing from far and wide to enjoy a well crafted line up.

Beyond The Tracks 2017 The second day of the first ever Beyond The Tracks Festival brought some big-name bands to the heart of Birmingham, including Ocean Colour Scene, Maxïmo Park, The Coral and The Twang. Eastside City Park is a relatively small plot of land, just beyond the tracks (surprise, surprise) that lead a steady stream of trains in and out of New Street Station. The set-up felt rather like a fireworks events, with several fairground rides and food & drink stalls, along with the autumnal (but mostly dry!) weather.

OnBlackheath I headed to leafy south-east London this past weekend for one of the last summer festivals, OnBlackheath. The festival is sponsored by John Lewis and its fourth year. What makes the festival different is that it caters for all ages. A sea of families, running toddlers, strollers and Hello Kitty balloons welcomed me. With an array of activities to keep the children occupied, if I had any, this would also be a festival I would comfortable take them to.
