On the last night of the ‘Artemis’ tour, American violinist Lindsey Stirling returned to London to take the Hammersmith Apollo crowd on a unique journey of sound and image. Putting forward a modern take on a classical instrument, she captivates the audience’s ears from the first notes of her violin accompanied by electronic drops, while her ballet performance locks their eyes on her elegant yet energetic moves, all to convey a very important message. |

Katy B has been going from strength to strength! Following a tough couple of months where shows had to be cancelled (one of which was cancelled only a few nights ago on doctor’s orders), Katy B has returned to London once more to show her fans she’s back and means business! ADO (Alternative Dubstep Orchestra) took to the stage for a gig on home turf last Friday night like a force of nature, opening with a Specials cover that quite literally had the room rattling with bass and vibrating with heavy electric guitar. This is the next generation of dubstep according to Juno Records and from the word go ADO stated their mission... to quite simply get the room and everyone in it to wobble like jelly. |

What's the world coming to? I'm in The Library Room at the HMV Institute for a gig put on by BirminghamPromoters.com. Usually, Birmingham Promoters fill their calendar with up and coming bands as well as established artists with just a small dedicated following. Something about this gig isn't making sense. Instead of the usual band associated instruments; drum kit, guitars etc... Tonight there's nothing, not a jot. Unless you count a pair of decks, notebook pro, Kaos Pad and a microphone as instruments. Oh yeah! And a bare foot judge presiding over the scene. If you're a working roadie, I'd imagine a job with Beardyman must be considered an easy gig. |

Sweeeet was the level of energy that hit the room when Tinie Tempah began with the intro from his album Disc-Overy. It was like a lyrical machine gun blasted the crowd as every person in the room, arms raised, jumped to the base line. It was a perfect start to his gig, the room was pumped. You could feel the love when he began Wonderman and each raised pair of hands in the room swiftly made the W sign. Everything was going great.. |
